We are on AT$T. My cell phone internet is grandfathered in as unlimited.... From 4 or 5 years ago.
The wife just got the new 'Unlimited' and it permits 5G/month.

There are times I've exceeded 14Gb while working on customer computers or downloading applications. It hasn't raised the bill.
Wife, on the other hand, will get dinged an extra $10/Gb/month for anything over her allotment.

We use Verizon "5spot" wireless and have 3 GB a month for 35.00 and if we think we are going to go over we just call them and tell them to give us another GB and they charge 10.00 extra per GB over. We have to call or go by and tell them to drop it back down the next billing cycle or they will charge us for 4 if we don't even if we don't use it. That is why we go download updates at Starbucks or a grocery store in the parking lot on their free wi/fi
We don't stream movies either because they use a lot of bandwidth also. FWIW

Hands down, no question, it is Millenicom.

Their unlimited plan, which is actually unlimited (as opposed to other "unlimited" plans with 5gb caps) is only $70 a month. They use Verizon's 3g network, which has the best coverage nationwide.

http://www.millenicom.com/page/plans

You have to buy the AirCard.

For $10 less, you can get their 20gb per month plan, which is probably plenty for most people.

HTH,

the issue of cell phone service and cost is just a wonder to behold.
hearing you guys south of the 49th just reaffirms how bad we are getting hosed by the cell providers here in Canada.
My monthly cell/data stream costs about $175 per month and that is if I don't go over the amount of data I am permitted.
Not to mention that the company that I am with advertises the lowest number of dropped calls.. If this is true none of the other providers could ever get a call through.
Thanks for listening to my rant on cell service!

Sean...or others....how is the "coverage" on Millenicom?

I've been with Verizon since they started and have very few "complaints"...XCEPT...the 5GB to 10 GB update; we seem to need a bit more, but not 5GB additional, since we have to "watch it" the last few days of the cycle. For SS income, $30 added is a sizable amount, particularly if one does not need that much. What we pay for 5GB is enuf! (Millenium offers four times as much for the same price!!)

Thanx, FWIW

I have had Sprint for years and I can leave Florida and travel and have never been without service, not to say it has some dead spots that even sunshine can get thru LOL. Being a former guviment employee, I did get a discount and only have 800 minutes between wifey and me. Mine is costing for both 72.00 monthly. I have a friend that just signed up with Metro pcs for 40 and month and it is unlimited everything, calls, rext, web and etc.

They use Verizon's network, so the coverage is the same as Verizon. Verizon has, without question, the largest 3g (and 1X) coverage in the business. Sprint is #2, with AT&T (even with T-Mobile added on, whenever that happens) a distant 3rd.

Dumb trivia for today:

Southern Pacific Railroad Internal Network Telecommunications.

One of the many pieces of the puzzle that is today's Sprint.

I hope I am getting my point out, it is mostly internet coverage on my laptop,I don't have a problem getting all the internet on my phone that I can handle, I am trying to get laptop coverage when we are on the road for a time, also I buy my phones outright so I don't have to deal with the 2 year programs, (just what I do.) Thanks g

Gary I do not get the 2 yr contract either. All you have to do is go their website and buy the refurbished, returned, overstocked, etc phone at a hugh discounted price and it is yours forever.

I browsed the Millenicom website. I find it interesting that they use the Verizon towers, but under the BYOD plan it says "Any non-active 3G (but NOT 3G/4G) mobile broadband device that works over the 'Sprint mobile broadband network' can be used for the BYOD program."

Good catch. Millenicom resells both networks.

The 10-gig plan is on Verizon. Unlimited plans are on Sprint/T-Mobile.

I would go back and correct my original response but it is past the time limit for post edits.
