Remember me? I’m the guy that blew the bay doors open with a gas leak on my MC7. Well I have another story. Friday a friend and myself flew back to Saint Paul to pick up a Country Coach, nice one with all the good stuff, 450 HP auto and only 80,000 miles on it. We left at around noon and got fuel in Oklahoma City at about 11:30 pm (one stop for food and booze). As we got back on 35 the new owner looked it his mirror and ask me why the rear tires had smoke coming off them, well I’m no Indian but some smoke signals I can read. Well a little over 12 hours and $200,000.00 later our adventure was over, except for the ride back to LA when the airline had to explain about the smoke smell to the passengers that thought the plane was on fire.

This does not sound good. Can we assume from the $$ figure that it was totaled? If so, any clues as to what went wrong?

Not sure yet about the reason and I think it will be repaired. We used 4 large fire extinguishers but tires like to burn. It took the fire dept. two trys and foam to put it out. Could be a wheel bearing.

Update on the fire. The first check was sent to the repair shop for $52,000.00 with more to follow. The insurance company is trying to find the shop that just did the work on the brakes and the owner that sold it.
