Contacted the tech writer at Land Line after reading a fine article on diesel fuel. Hope to get permission to post it . A point in the article was Emulsifiers and DE- emulsifiers. Seems the emulsifiers will cause the gunk to be carried to (hopefully NOT thru) the filters. The De -emulsifiers will cause the gunk to sink to the bottom. When quering for a brand recomendation; "I won't recommend brands, but I can report that the leading emulsifiers in the US are Power Service and FPPF. The leading deemulsifier is Howes. Other good products are sold by Penray, Nalco and others. Read the labels before buying." For a coach with a hard to drain sump the emulsifier would seem the better choice , on my boat , with a big drainable sump ,or a coach that actually can easily drain the bottom of the tank, the de- emulsifier seems called for. FF, I used FPPF in all my semi's (16) for years and never had a fuel problem, even in temps below -30. It can be found at most PETROL truckstops and is pre-measured for 140 gallon. John 4104, 4106 |
