I want to replace the rear electrical panel (we will also replace the front panel). I have the schematics that someone was kind enough to make a copy and send to me. I figure as old as those relays, etc are we should replace them. And our whole panel looks somewhat iffy (as in, if we touch it it might fall apart). We have removed all the bus AC/heat and there are lots of wires that run all over the place from that panel to lead to nothing. Yet the bus runs fine and everything still works. My question is what do we keep and what do we replace. Does someone have a link to a website that shows an overhauled rear electrical panel (step-by-step idiot proof instructions would be nice too) . Our engine is an 8V71N with a 4sp manual trans (until we replace it with another manual trans). |

You will need an 05 wiring manual. I have a 10 and there are lots of wires going to nowhere, also. Turns out that those are for options like restrooms and other things that may not have been installed in your coach. My eagle 10 wiring manual gave pretty good details of that panel, and the wire ends and spade terminals were all numbered. I'd have been lost without that. I didn' rewire mine and left all the AC relays intact, though not in use. I did use some of the relay sockets for a couple of extra gizmos I put in, but overall, I removed very little. It will be a daunting task to do that, but doable. A lot of the box is used up with those big air conditioner relays which you will not replace. Try coach conversion central online to locate some wiring manuals. David Anderson |
