Saw one of these that was restored at the Carlisle, Pa car show last year on display. Maybe this one. Cool looking item, however I can't see more than $100,000 for it, tops. BTW, one of the vendors there has a Beck? Scenic Cruiser style coach there each show. Stainless is all polished and rest is bright red.I'll take and post a couple of pics, next time I go. |

In the article it talked about one guy spending $300,000 for restoration.... $100,000 wont even come close to buying a restored one at that rate |

They had one at the Iola car show a few years back. I think I saw one sell on Barrett-Jackson auction too but can't remember the selling price. Quite a peice of machinery though! |

maybe it'll go for a lot more. There are many people with big bucks that will go for something unique. Although some invest more money in a restoration than it will ever recoup. Motor homes too. |

I took the Bus Conversion workshop (1999?) and Mike's Futureliner was at the shop. During the week, he had an industrial sandblaster come in and blast the bus. Afterwords, I went out and looked at the sheetmetal and it was all warped big time - every panel!! At one of the early BCM rallies, there was a restored one and it looked great. Could never understand why it was called a bus, but it was beautiful! Jim |

When you stop and think about all the oddities of the past, the futureliner was a strange bus for sure, the edsel, the corvair,, they all were shelved at some point and put aside to be forgotten, now they are being rediscovered by a new generation and their beauty is finally being appreciated for how unique they are, like I was once told, as long as there is a spot in a museum somewhere dedicated to homely, there will always be a spot for me lol. I'm not cheap but I can be had resonably, I even come with an easy payment plan and no interst, alas, no interest lol. I saw one at a show at COBO Hall in detroit years ago and marveled at how different it was, somebody thru away convention and broke all the rules and just did it, thats what life is all about, just do it. |
