Is it true that GM 4106's, 07's, and 08's share the same differential? If so, how can I get one, and what's a fair price? No reply to previous "net" inquiries. Thanks! |

Only two ratios, all mechanically interchangeable from 1961 (4106) on. Most 35 footers were 4 1/8, most 40 footers were 4 3/8. Third members in good condition are getting scarce, especially 4 1/8. $1000 plus. Jim Stacy |

Im not sure friend Jim has priced one lately , $2000 on the East coast and up IF you can find one. At Jacks party one wise gent was willing to have a GM hulk dragged a few hundred miles at his expense . on the hope the rear end was still servicable. Gary Dean was supposed to have a source for a mfg to create new ring & pinions , but I never heartd if they became avilable , or the price. FAST FRED |

Rumor has it there were about a dozen 3.7 made for the 4106. I really wanted them so that converting to a V730 would not cost me MPH and MPG. Found a place that I could get a set cut, but cost prohibitive for one set. Needed 50 to get a decent price. I think at that time I got two other to join, but finally gave up |

Gary, mine has a 410 rear end 22.5 tires and a v-730 runs 76, i never heard of a 3.7. i had a really hard time finding parts to rebuild mine and un able to finsd a good used one anywhere.mpg dropped from 10 to 7.5, speed close to 10 mph. would not do this change again, also runs hotter, consider all these things before making this change Frank Allen 4106 |

I found after putting in a VS2-8 that my rear gears were too tall with the overdrive so got a ring and pinion on a swap deal from Gary in Lake Havasu AZ and switched them out..5.55 ratio.>>>Dan |
