I have just located a fluid fan drive for my 4106 with a 8v71. The torus on mine is crack. With the wisdom that this board has on buses and engines, I would certainly appreciate any info. on what to look for on the fan drive and what would be a fair price on a good used fan drive. I know they hard to come by. Thanks to all in advance AL.

About the only thing you can do to check out a fluid drive fan is to move the fan to see if the bearings are okay and turn the drive end also to check for worn out bearings. check the springs on the flex plate and look very carefully at the spline shaft to check for worn splines. There isn't really too much to go wrong with these units. Hope this helps you. Bill
