I am making new water tanks out of ABS plastic (per G Lowry's write-up). But George didn't say how he secured them to the floor or how the top tank was secured to the bottom tank. Any suggestion? Tanks for your help, Joe 4106-2119 |

Joe, Gumpydog built his and just sat them inside some 1/2 inch angle. He didn't have 'em tied down at all. |

Ahhh I didn't catch the stacking part. What about welding two pices of angle back to back, one would hold the top of the bottom tank and the other would hold the bottom of the top tank. You could even put some of that stuff they put between camper shells and truck beds to keep the rubbing down. |

I made a framework of alumimun angle for the top and bottom. Then use threaded rod to connect the frames together and bolted this to the floor. This arrangement prevents the tanks from shifting or tipping without any stress on the piping. Richard Jones |

Richard, Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Does the alum angle pull down on the top of the tank? Also are your tanks ABS and are they stacked one on top of the other? |

My tanks are Poly and are stacked, fresh on top of combo, 85 gal. each. Fresh is offset forward; 1/2 rests on combo (with a cushion pad btwn. the contact points) and the forward bottom edge supported in a 3" aluminum angle suspended diagonally from the floor of the bus. The offset facilitated inlets to the combo tank on the top (2) while inlets and outlets of fresh are on the ends. Tanks are 12x26x72(or thereabouts in length). |

The tanks are polypropylene, but are not stacked. I used polypropylene welding rod and pipe fittings with a "Habor Freight" welder. The framework does come down over the top edge and the tank sit inside the lower frame work. Richard Jones |
