I am trying to figure out how high to mount a backup camera. Please let me know what works or dosent work for you , as high as it can ( 12’ ) or as low as it can ( 7’ ). Thanks . |

You mount it high and adjust it down to where you want the picture. |

Hi Mike, Go as high as you can, practicably. You'll want to see everything that you could run into while backing, including tree branches, building overhangs, etc. Ian www.busnut.com |

Mike, On my MC-9 with original rear cap, I found that I had to mount the camera about mid-way up. At the high point I would not have been able to see the bumper due to the way the top of the cap sweeps forward. Seeing the bumper is important because you will sometimes need to backup right up against something and that is when the camera is your greatest asset. FWIW, Steve G. If you haven't bought it yet, I would highly recommend that you pay attention to the focal length of lens, or 'field of view'. I got a HongKong special with a 90¡ angle, and it is not sufficient. Will be replaced at some point. |

My rear camera is mounted at 8' 10". Was there when I bought my 4905. Gives great view. Also works at night with no light or back up lights on. It is a Sony "HYPER HAD ". Not Trying to promote; just info for anyone that's curious. |
