Hello fellow bus nuts,
I am in desperate need of some help. My front ac unit is blowing cold but weak air. Heard of a failed capacitor could cause this problem, but do not know for sure. The temp has been over 98 degrees. I could use some suggestions on where to start.

Thank you.

I would start by measuring the voltage at the unit while it is running.

JR,
Sounds to me like the filter is dirty, a second guess would be bad fan bearings.
There are actually two capacitors in most of these systems. One, or half of a dual capacitor, runs the fans, the other runs the compressor. If the capacitor is bad, the compressor and/or the fans won't run.

My Coleman mach has high and low speeds you may want to check the thermostat and work the switch back and forth, if you have this feature. On my unit the only time it has blown slow is when the filter was dirty and the restriction caused the coils to freeze up.
