Hi folks,

I know a number of you are seeking a bus, some even your first bus.

Public Surplus occasionally comes up with a gem that is sometimes worth the headache of participating in an online auction, getting to the bus and then removing it from the property on which it sits.

However, take a close look at this auction http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/auction/view?auc=576451.

Several people on this board have had various degrees of success with the RTS and could offer their experiences with this vehicle which (although it says an inline 6) has a 6V92 coupled to an Allison V731R. It appears to have lived in Pueblo all its life. Overall, a good base from which to build. As I write this, the high bid is a mere $1,075 and will likely sell for between 3 and 5k. Might be well worth a close look. You have less than 8 hours to think about it.

I would buy this myself, sight unseen, but, alas, I can't import an RTS of this vintage into Canada.

I have nothing to do with Public Surplus and am not connected to the bus.

Thanx for the heads up, Bossnut! :-) Don't need another one, but the tires alone would bring a healthy return at this price, most likely. :-)

Ian

If you need an RTS, there is one for sale in Peachland B.C.fully converted by an Arnie?. Saw it going through the Ritchie Auction a couple of years ago. It came from Strathcona Transit.
