I recently spoke with Arizona Tranmission about putting in an automatic tranmission to replace the standard that I now have. I have the automatic and they said they could put it in for $3500. Have any of you dealt with them before and are they a good shop to do businss with? |

No personal experience with their workmanship. I spoke on the phone with one guy at the Phoenix part of the company and he was very nice and helpful. However, when I mentioned this company on some of the busnut groups, there were a lot of warnings of bad workmanship, etc. I don't know how current this info was, so all I can say is be aware of the history. They have a sister company in Tucson as well. I was told it is a father/son situation. A family affair. I have been advised to go to a company in Lake Havasu City AZ, and I will be calling them later today, for an estimate for a similar job. Peter. |

Put your bus on a trailer and ship it to 'Luke' out east. It will be a lot cheaper, and the work will be done correctly. Arizona Transmission is crooks. That $3.5K work will end up costing you $12K to $14K, and it will need work after less than 5k miles. I'm still trying to get the $4K refund they PROMISED me 3 years ago. |

If the co. in lake Havasu city is Gary who makes the air leveling systems and used to be in Paso Robles Ca. They put my automatic in my Mc5 and I had to finish the job. Be very careful.I would go up to So. Oregon Diesel. They know what they are doing and will do a good job |

Gary was not able to do the job as he no longer has a yard. He recommended that I call the company in Havasu, Diesels and More. They were not interested and refered me to the Lube & Auto Center who refered me to Bill's Auto & Truck, at that point I stopped calling Havasu companies. Hence I am going to stick with the only compnay around here in Kingman (where I live) that is willing to attempt the job. I will report on their work after the fact. Peter. |

Hi Peter Did you get your transmission changed? If not united in CA is an authorized Allison shop and they'll install yours for you. They did some work for me it was excellent and the price was fair. Let me know via e-mail if you want their telephone number. |
