I am going to a conference at the Las Vegas Hilton next week.
Gonna take the bus.

It is at 3000 Paradise Road "just one block from the famed Las Vegas Strip and immediately adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center"

I called the hotel, they have RV parking with no hookups.
are there any RV Parks in the area? The wife prefers hookups!

Thanks, Peter

Circus Circus on the strip has an RV Park. I believe it has hook ups.. not far from the Convention Center too..

I was on the Hoover Dam in late Feb, and RV were subject to a search, but were being allowed across the dam.

US95 is a good highway.. but can be subjected to high winds.

Hope this helps,

Yes, Circus Circus has full hookups. Their web site is at http://www.circuscircus.com/accommodations/rv_park.php

You could walk from Circus Circus to the Convention Center but it is a LONG walk. Toad is good if there is parking where your conference will be. Go slow on the drainage ditches at Circus Circus RV park, they are doozies. The RV park is nothing but a huge parking lot, with hook-ups and a few trees scattered here and there, but proximity to the Strip is a plus. IIRC, it may be easier (less traffic) to access the RV park from Industrial Ave. instead of the Strip. Having KOA membership will save you a buck or two.

There is a new monorail that goes from the Sahara to the Convention Center and places south..

Circus Circus RV park is the place if you want to be close to the convention center, but while it too, is only a block from the strip, it's to the west of the strip near Sahara Blvd and the Convention center is at the corner of Desert Inn east of the strip. it's over a mile to the Convention center from Circus Circus RV.

Is the monorail up and running yet?

I was just commenting this past weekend on the temporary plywood that is covering the steel structure of the Convention Center terminal...

If it is up and running it would be about a 500 yard walk from Circus Circus RV park to the Sahara terminal

I just did the Hoover dam in my Crown... they inspected me inside and out for about 1 minute, were very freindly, no problems at all. About the toad, just call em and ask. You can call (888) 248-1259 to get a recording of the latest Hoover Dam restrictions, and I believe that recording gives the number of some real people if you have more questions....

Have fun

WOW! I knew you guys and gals would give me the straight scoop!
Thanks!

We will use the Hilton RV parking and stay in the hotel... the bride "prefers it" because of the venue.

The recording for Hover Dam was cool, but there is some sort of construction and I don't pay attention to good so I may take 95 if I don't miss the turn off.

Thanks Again, peter

Peter, the construction is for the flyover bridge that will cross over the dam and bypass the winding traffic that now has to make it's way down cross the dam and climb back up... It shouldn't be too much of a delay for you, the only halt is for trucks crossing the road!

Another Las Vegas option for the RV is to stay at Sam's Town which is located on Boulder Highway. Sam's Town is a nice resort in and of itself, and they have free shuttle busses running from there to the Strip as well as to Downtown Vegas.

Last I checked a year and a half ago it was from $12 to $18 a night for full hookups, and they have lots of capacity.
