Hey RC or RJ or any other Crown guys. What make are the Sping Brakes on my Crown? Iv'e never seen this type before. They have no way to cage the spring and are like a round can. There is a clamp on the back of the can to service the sping and diaphram like on a conventional Spring Brake. When I had one of the truck places look at them they also said they had no idea what they were. Thanks in advance.(they are not dd3)

Rotochamber?

Rubber boot on the pushrod end, with the spring brake acting on a sleeve that catches the threaded pushrod via an adjustable nut?

happy coaching!

Thanks Bw but it ain't one of them either. It has about a 1" shaft very smooth and shiney like a hydraulic cylender extending out of the "can"pushing the slack adjuster.

Sure some wedge brakes are spring brakes as a matter of fact next month we are installing a set of wedge brakes on a MCI 9 to replace the DD3 not enough room for regular spring but plenty for the wedges with the can running parallel with the axle got the backing plates off a Mack and bought the cans from MGM

good luck
