Has anyone converted a fishbowl manual steering to sheppard power steering? If so, what model sheppard unit did you use?

Thanks

Grant

I changed my steering to power on my 5303 about 18 years ago. I used a Sheppard 492 box and I had to use a radius rod from the back to get enough clearance for the steering box. I got a radius rod that has a curve to it and cut approx 3 inches from the centre of it and welded it back together to replace the straight one on the front axle. The pitman arm is from a GM 4905. Be careful that there isn't much play in the sheppard box as there is no adjusment on these boxes. This box is a direct replacement for the manual one. Hope this helps you. Bill
