I want to install a windshield washer system in my 4106. I'm leaning toward "wet-wipers" rather than spray nozzles. And 12V pump rather than air. Any one know of a source for reservoir, pump, bulkhead nozzles, etc?
Also, any one ever heat the washer fluid?

Heat washer fluid?
Never heard that suggested, must be a question from warmer climes, around here we use the stuff good for 30 below available everywhere in gallon jugs

All this is off the shelf stuff, you can get a after market pump and wet wipers system, use a washer fluid container for res. some tubing (comes with wet washers...
oh and p.s. my VW work van (transporter) has heated washer nozzles...fancy huh?
don't really see the point, in the cold we use fluid rated to -42....no problems that way.

Darrell
If there isn't anything available in the local Auto parts store try an auto wrecker. Cheap and lots of choice. I even used the wiper arms from a Ford that were long enough and mated them to the lower part that attaches to the bus wiper motor. They had the nozzels attached to them and spray the total area where the wiper blades contact. Works very well and was cheap.

I just bought a kit from Butch at Wetstorm. I haven't installed it yet but it appears to be a complete kit. Contact him at wet-storm@hotmail.com and see what he can do for you.

My kit was like $26. and included nozzles, tank pump, switch, and tubing. The tank is kind of smallish (1.5 liters) but should be OK, just may have to fill more often.

My original air powered ones were toast, and I don't think they are even available anymore.

Hayden makes a kit for about 80 bucks, comes with a 2 gal. reservoir. It can also be used as a radiator spray system. One place you can get it is through Carquest.

The reason I'm suggesting warm washer fluid: I thought it might help melt the snow/ice that builds-up on the wipers. The way I deal with that situation now is to turn off the wipers every few minuts and when they snap back to center the snow is vibrated off the wiper. Tedious to say the least. Thanks for the help.

Now that this has reached a terminus so to speak...

With the employment situation the way it is...
why not just consider hiring a midget with a squeegee & a bucket?
You COULD offer them a place to live in your spare tire compartment & free travel whenever you head out...

just sayin!

Hmmm Jack
Maybe this was what that bus driver was thinking with the extra passengers in the luggage compartment, just giving them more room tho..

Hey Sam No Problem...
any double posts just indicate that you want Dal to read it,
he's hard of hearing ya know.
Chromie will never notice either,
he thinks double posts are just reflections bouncing off his
cray-knee-um.
