I really enjoy this kind of stuff. Kinda like being a young boy again and dreaming of things to come, no matter how impossible that may be. Then, when I take a look around me today, I see things that were impossible when I was young and yet it exists today. I hope you enjoy my thoughts. -------------------------------- Recently, there was a short string about the "TILLEY FOUNDATION" and the "ELECTRIC DELOREAN" motor car. The focus point of this car was the fact that there was a "CLAIM" attached to it that said this car never needed to be charged from outside sources. This car was claimed to be able to regenerate the power it used to operate as well as keep the batteries afloat. Well, Man is a dreamer of Sweet Dreams. Long story short, the man that is the "TILLEY FOUNDATION" claims his buildings are powered by a similar device as used in the delorean, is building an ELECTRIC BOAT, ATV, supposedly building an ELECTRIC SUV and an ENERGIZER for an RV that never needed any kind of fuel. All never officially tested or confirmed to perform what the FOUNDATION claims. It seems during the 700 mile test period, the DeLOREAN was aflickted with a failed wheel bearing after only about 20 miles . The test was never attempted again. Is there a bright side to this dark cloud? Imagine, free energy for your car, your conversion, your home. We, in a world of tight economics and limited fuel supplies dream of such a source of energy. I for one would like to eliminate that electric bill for my home. When I travel, My conversion will give me a freedom, though not free but with Solar Support. The sad side to the "ELECTRIC DELOREAN" story is if you search out "ELECTRIC DELOREAN" you will get many pages of news articles about the Delorean but you will get many more pages claiming FRAUD and STOCK misrepresentations. There is, however, one observers comments (the only one I have found so far that seems to have real credibility), that was able to get some pretty interesting pictures of the ELECTRIC DELOREAN and its working parts, that is all BUT the energizer, tho it seems this party did get a look at it. He actually came up with some conclusions and a drawing of a system (common to most electric car circuits in some ways) of what may be the inner workings of this vehicle. This gentleman proposes that the "TILLEY FOUNDATION" used a WIND GENERATOR Alternator for the regenerative unit to all the energizer devices. Why would this be of any interest? It seems that the Wind Generator Alternator has a capacity or 80% more generation energy (claimed by web sites) and the ability to do this is because the Wind Gens use PERMANENT MAGNETS, not powered coils as in common automotive alternators or generators. These PMAs (Permenant Magnet Alternators) seem to also aquire less drag since they use Wind Power on small blades for rotational torque. One interesting side thought is hidden in all of the comments and sales speaches. One manufacturer claims he has made a 3 wheeled vehicle that is not for sale, it was made to move things (up to 1500#) around the shop. It has a DC motor, travels about 12 MPH and with the addition of a PMA, never needs to be connected for charging. HMMMMM.... Can this be true, perhaps. The 3 wheeler is light and the motor is small. It does not need to aquire high speeds so there is never a heavy drain on the battery as with the Electric Delorean. Does this spark anyones Creative Interest? Can freedom from the plug or gas station be attained? Has it really been done with this small 3 wheeled marvel? To all interested, this would certainly be, at the very least, provokative reading. But imagine if a system for the conversion could be created to supply all the power you would need for your 110v or even 220v ac items. There is a new series coming on, I beleive it was the Discovery Channel called SUCKING AMPS. It is about Electric Vehicles and is about converting vehicles over to electric. Though FORD just recently Scraped its Electric Car program (120 million dollar investment), there are groups who are readily building these cars and my interest in electrics has never dimmed. This program just peaks my interest even more. Perhaps someday we may enjoy "fuel less" energy for the home, conversion, car or whatever. Do we have it now, unfortunately, it seems that even the TILLEY FOUNDATION may not have had the secret revealed to them yet. But imagine if it really worked! Just "IMAGINE" cd |

the main problem is the storage...batteries have not gotten as good as they need to be...Tessla had some kind of invention that he could 'store' elec. in the earth...poor guy died with people laughing at him...no records... |

Hello. This might sound really stupid. But I have thought: if wind power can generate electricity, then could not small fans be put on top of a vehicle that would use the wind while driving to generate power? Almost like a solar thing -- slow, not huge output, but good grief, pretty steady while you're moving. David Clark |

If I remember right from school, there is a thing called counter-emf which opposes EMF(Electro Motive Force) this amounts to about 90%. Until that little problem is taken care of then we'll all have to continue as we are. Then there is parasitic drag and friction....Hmmmmm. Most things that sound too good to be true, usually are. Invest your money wisely. Ed Jewett |

A freshman college physics sequence should be enough to immunize most folks to the absurd claims of these crackpot (or is it "crack pot smoking") "scientists." I would be willing to believe such claims if it were not for the fact that they blatantly violate readily proven laws of physics. |

"...so, a fish sitting in 6 inches of water, only realises the axis X and Y... When he looks up, he sees nothing, but can imagine that something else is there, a third dimension, if you will, Z, but when he tells the other fish they laugh at him..." |

The Tilley Foundation... Hmmm, I wonder is it Meg or Jennifer? Probably wouldn't have any less scientific credibility if it were named the Silly Foundation. The perpetual motion machine hasn't been invented yet, because if it had, we ALL would have heard about it and have a pretty good idea how it works... Brian |

People have been dreaming up whacky perpetual motion machines for hundreds of years. Ya just don't more energy out that you put in. Even if you could get 99.99% effeciency out of some gizmo, you still don't come out ahead. All anyone has to do is create some little toy that proves the principle and they would be a billionare. If someone can demonstrate how to harness energy directly from matter, ala fusion etc. or capture energy found in some theorized particle like a tachyon, then it might get interesting. I have no doubt new forms of energy will be found, as decades and centuries pass, but electric motors turning electric generators doesn't cut the mustard in my opinion. Wind power is all good and fine when you have a steady natural wind over a wind generator. But putting one one on a moving vehicle creates more drag than you get in return, might as well just direct drive off the engine, i.e. an alternator. Now regenerative braking, that is of interest to me. Sure would be nice to capture some of that potential energy instead of wasting it as heat to a retarder, radiator or brake drums. Scott |

The guy who invented the gyro scooter (whatever it's name is) also claims and has demonstrated a perpetual motion machine that will actually provide the power requirements of his labs. He has smaller untis in production up to the equivelant of about 20hp and has gone 3rd world with it after being "snubbed" and stonewalled by US money interest (guess which ones). The guy is somewhat of an eccentric genius. I have thought for years that the person that ever makes a real breakthrough on "storage batteries" or whatever eventually takes there place is going to make Bill Gates look like a pauper. The apparent limitations of most of today's known technology would seem to indicate that research in a different direction is where the answer will be found, if there is one. |

Even if they are invented, we won't have any of these energy sources mainstreamed as long as there is an oil industry! If the inventors don't/won't sell, they have "accidents". There are countless BILLIONS at stake. If one of these things got into the market, oil & oil related stock values would plunge. Can't have that happen. |

Not that I think the oil industry is faultless, but there are more things to do with petroleum than make fuel with it. It is used to make plastics, fabrics, medicines/drugs and even food. A more economical energy source would free much oil for these purposes. And face it, the money in the oil industry could just as well 'control' this new energy source. My 2 cents worth Dale |

Oh I don't know. Wasn't there an episode in the original "Star Trek" series where Captain Kirk mentions that the antimatter power source for the Enterprise is "self renewing" or something like that? |
