after tearing out the front parlor I discovered the original flooring was rotted around the perimiter where the windows had leaked. and it seams to sag slightly between floor joists. should I cut out rotted area and fill back in then go over complete floor with 3/4 inch plywood glued and screwed down every six inches or tear out and replace completely?

you don't say what bus you have, but.... the floor is often a structural member... and it needs to be repaired properly... the original floor lasted a long time.. and would still be there if it weren't for the leaks... replace the floor with whatever original thickness plywood... to add another layer only adds weight and cuts down on ceiling height....

The bus is a 4905 I read an older post on floor removal but not my model. also I have noticed that the bay door hinges mount directly to floor and rotted in a couple of those areas

Ron,
You really should join the GM busnuts Yahoo group. The floor in a PD4905 is a structural part of the bus. Floor work has been a recent discussion so you'll find many hints on how to do the replacement in the archives. Luke has the exact replacement bolts, some have used elevator bolts but the floor needs to have all it's fasteners. From the extent of the damage you have I'd think total replacement is best and possibly easiest too.

the bay door hinges do not mount directly to floor. the floor board fits in a channel that has the hinge track under and a flat plate on top.
Runs the entire length of the raised portion of the bus. Bolts go up thru the floor from the bottom of this channel and nuts are put on from the top.
most other bolts on the floor go down from the top. I replaced the floor between the outer edge and the seat rail. not difficult. Cut along the outer edge of the seat rail, remove seat rail and you are left with a rabbited edge on original floor. Rout a corrisponding rabbit on the new floor and rebolt using the same holes and bracing(under floor) as original. I can e-mail a picture if you want.

I would talk to luke before i did anything with the floor, he can tell you what to inspect under the coach i thought i recalled you said it dog legged, if this is true a complete inspection of the under side is nessasary because you may have some rear stuctual problems which in turn can put the rear end out of square, he can tell you lots easyier than i can.
