My friends stopped by this evening and asked for some thing to do so I put them on bay door hinges. quite a task. we finaly released the torsion bar from the door and that helped but still was hard to do. any advise on getting new hinges in the slot? we got to about 12 inches from edge then could get no farther. |

captain ron clean, clean, clean, and clean some more. There should be a thread or two in the archives that describes the procedure very well. Also keep in mind that you can only use certain types of lubricants to make the job easier or you'll be doing it all over again in very short order. Good luck. Guy 4905 |

I just replaced one on a 4905 the other day. I used a 1 inch piece and slid it back and forth in both places for the hinge material. Then I used soap and ran it thru again. I put the soapon the hinge and started to push it thru. All went well except the last 12 inches. While a friend shoved on the hinge I moved the door horizontal back and forth a short way. Then it went in easy. |
