I'm not sure if my post got to the board, so here I go again. Do I need to isolate my genset starter battery from the generator, fan, radiator, etc? Are the fumes from one battery enough to worry about corrosion?
Thanks in advance, David Anderson

I would definitely place the batteries outside of the generator box. There are two issues here. One is the corrosive effects of the battery fumes on your expensive equipment and two, the possibility on an EXPLOSION from the hydrogen gasses. Try to keep the battery cables as short as possible.
