I have Kelly's made in the 11th week of 2002 with only 21,000 miles on them. They look great and my bus lives indoors. I know all of that is only me thinking "gee....they sure look like new".

What is a good tire to buy these day for our busses? I would like American made.

Not sure how it compares as this is the first set I have bought but I am running on Firestones and don't have any complaints. 12 22.5

The Kelly KLM's I am running currently are 295 75R22.5's. I am just trying to see what is "out there" that is not made overseas.....

We just replaced a couple of Goodyear's with Firestone FS 507 Steers. Prices are way up from when we bought the other six FS 560 Firestone's last October. 940 balanced, mounted, tax and some other fees.

I put Toyo tires on my bus and I'm happy with them, got a good deal through a friend.
The tires they replaced were also Toyo but had been sitting so long that the cracks in the sidewalls on one tire were starting to leak air.

I find that most tires are good for the short lives they have on our buses.

Maybe you should ask which ones are for sure not good?

I personally have never had what I would call a bad bus tire but then I have been a bus nut only six years.

02 is too long, they have to go. Maybe they could be trailer tires for some trucker.

Rubber is going to cost you $5000 for 5 years if you have 10 on the ground and act in a responsible way.

Put it in the budget, you are running a big rig and it deserves more than a little respect or you need to start pulling a trailer.

If you can afford Bridgestone or Toyos you can always find a trucker who will pay for your unused 32nds.

Tire money seems high to the inexperienced but keeping new quality tires on your bus or over they road trucks will save you many dollars per million miles.

Larry

What is the oldest age a trucker would consider for Bridgestone or toyos ? I have some with lots of 32seconds .

Joe.
