Hi folks,

I'll cut and paste from the new section:

"Ok, due to popular demand, here's a new section of BNO's Bulletin Board System (BNO BBS) where you can post the kind of stuff that doesn't fall broadly into the other Topics.

Also, if you feel compelled to answer, then answer again, then answer again, then answer again, then answer when everyone is telling you to not answer anymore, this section is also for you.

Also, fun and games can be here, too. If you're a joker and feel you may have an audience, please feel free to have your fun here.

I'll purge this section every so often. If your comments seem to be missing from wherever you thought you put them, check here; I'll be dropping your conversations here in a thread called "Yoo-Hoo... Over Here!"

Thanks for cooperating. Have fun!

So, what can I say? Have at 'er boys!

Enjoy :~)

Ian

I find it disturbing that the "holier than thou" community has targeted an individual, maybe someday we'll all live up to the expectations of the chosen few but personally I could care less if I ever do.

Cody were not targeting Fids or anyone for that matter. Just trying to cut out done of the bs. You might learn from this as well! Remember, this is out at least used to be a bus conversion board, not a comedy club, although a few of you think that is exactly what it is and offer nothing but... :-)

Yes, you are targeting jack fids, and a review of the new section is really enlightening as to content, ace, I disregarded your opinion years ago. We offer nothing but what,, popcorn? If you are not targeting jack do you remember anyone suggesting it be renamed "Fids Folder"? I had hoped for better.

Not only is there an abundance of stuff to wade thru, a large amount of the information given in respect to interior work is not as well presented as it could be,, I've had 5 buses here so far this summer, 4 of them for conversion corrections based on information given from the boards, I've pulled extention cords out of conduit that were charred,, redone ceramic tile that had cracked within a short time or just came loose, one drawer looked like a spastic monkey had attacked it with a air stapler, in a 17 inch length along a drawer side I found 9 staples, 3 of which were actually holding something, the others were shot thru the drawer bottom into the space where they did their best to destroy clothing, bad information is not just being given out here but also the other board as well. I have never offered mechanical information as I don't claim to be a diesel mechanic, I've also stopped offering conversion advice because when I do it's voted down by the 'experts' on the board,, often it's the experts work that I'm correcting when those buses hit the yard. For the board to regain it's past status it will take more than killing the last vestages of humor that are allowed anywhere, it'll take more accurate advice given to those that come here with problems they need help with. Just my opinion.

I agree with that Cody I can handle the mechanical end but the wood working naw lol I leave that alone as I want solid wood no cover ups for me.You need to look at Erics Eagle on EI the cabinet work he did beautiful job he made all the curves from solid wood I made a attempt at that before lol but he is a cabinet maker also.I bought a 1998 Newell and I am shocked by the cabinet work in that unit pretty bad for a high end coach

good luck

Cody you have your opinion and I have mine!

I did my bus and with help from these boards. I didn't do it reading the sarcastic humor that its given out now a days, yours included!
As for pop corn? You would have to do some explaining there. If I mentioned it, its about business, no joke!
As for your opinion of me in the past, present, or future, it is what it is. I've never tried to go out of my way to impress you or anyone else for that matter in anything I do. One thing I Will do and that is call it like I see it!
With that said, have a great day up in the mountains! :-)

Clifford, I just checked out the pics on erics bus, he did a great job,, forming the curves in solid wood isn't for rookies, there is laminate and formica for them, a friend at marathon once told me that laminates cover a lot of sins. Eric did a great job.

Actually, ace,, it is a great day today,, the sun is out, it's about 75, humidity is low, an all round great day, I'm less than a mile from Lake Superior, not quite the mountains but I do enjoy the scenic drives when I have time. I know you did your bus, I was in it and you did ok, it's a good job, remember I was parked on the other side of the fence from you at Jacks rally, it was my power post that you plugged into when you tossed your cord over the fence from the generator section. I liked the way you did the bar in your bus, it was well proportioned for the allowable width, I haven't seen too many bars that turned out as well.

Didn't we have this topic last week. I believe though, the topic had Jacks name in it.
Ian thought he would solve that fight but instead stoked the fire.
Anybody who says this is not about him is in serious denial. Especially when you use his name in your comments.
There is not one person here that has not hijacked a thread or given a humorous answer.
That being said, why don't we quit bashing Jack and accept him for what he is. A friend to many board members.
If you take exception to this just skip over it as you should with other posts you do not care for.

Have a nice day.

This has the sounds of the makings of a lynch mob. I'm ashamed of everyone of you that want to pick out one person to put out your anger toward.

Kinda sounds like a Tennessee Williams novel with the words.... "Look, there's that Nigger.. Let's tie him to a tree and set fire to him".

Assholes.

Yes, members of this board do get too personal and many of the worst complainers post the worst stuff.

Yes, it is a good idea for an OT board so their venom can be separated from good bus stuff.

However, Jack is not one of those. He is nutty for sure (Most of us are by definition!) but not nasty and political like a bunch of others.

Dan,

You have overlooked the point that Jack Fids was politely asked several times to stop hijacking threads and posting a FOOT OF DRIVEL!

He slowed down for a couple of weeks, and is back at it again. I just don't read his posts, but what about the poster who asked a question and got his thread hijacked? Now most of us don't read beyond these long and ridiculous posts, and the poster doesn't get the replies he or she asked for!

Sorry, but someone with absolutely no regard for any of the rest of us doesn't get any sympathy from me!

Dal,
Shame on you, your post should have been in the new category also!

George I quit reading your posts for the same reason. I don't recall reading where anyone asked for your sympathy, this is exactly what I'm talking about when I reference the "holier than thou" attitudes, yes, you have some knowledge in your given area, but I would hardly call you an expert in all things related to buses, are you also an expert in what constitutes "drivel"? There is a small group of self proclaimed gods that live on these boards that seem to think they are the last answer in all things bussing, common people like me don't dare question an answer, I just continue to repair the damage done when they misslead someone from their lofty positions, I'll continue to pull charred extention cords out, I'll continue to replace tile, I'll even continue to rehang cabinets that fall off the walls, I will admit that some are knowledgeable in some areas, but many of us also went to colleges and universities and were awarded degree's in different fields, many of us also work within those fields, we also have knowledge in many areas but that gets dismissed by the select few that govern and override our simple posts. Who thinks they have the right to "politely ask" a person and then get immediate compliance to the given directive. I will probably quit posting now as many others have so the select few that have the proper knowledge can guide us down the correct path. I'm just one of the miserable people that repair the damage done by others that are "in the know" Yesterday a bus came in to get a vanity redone, the drivers seat belt was fastened by lag bolts into the floor, when I asked about that I was told that the idea came from a post where another guy that "knows" busing was doing it and it worked just fine, I remember that post and I think many of you recall it too, this is the misinformation I'm talking about, before he leaves his belts will be properly fastened to a frame member. I shouldn't complain tho,, you guys bring lots of work my way, but sooner or later somebody will get hurt or killed. Ian, I aplogize for my 'foot of drivel', I'm done posting on this, I'll let the gods rule, my job is simply to repair the damage they inflict and not question their "authority".

LOL I actually have my seat belts fastened to the couch behind me using long bungy's. I think the couch should be heavy enough to hold me back! On Susan's seat, the rope which is the same rope that I use in case I get stuck someplace and need a tow, goes all the way rearward and loops around the toilet! Hey, it IS porcelain so its strong enough!
And Cody, how about some pictures of these bus fixes your doing along with the owners so we can see the fine work your doing. You do know talk is cheap on the internet!

Dan,

Four things,
1. You never took a charred extension cord out of a bus that was installed on my advice!

2. Extension is spelled extension, NOT extention!

3. As you say above, "... you have knowledge in some areas..." What you have apparently never noticed is that I don't post where I am not qualified!

4. You have become a legend in your own mind!

CHESSIE CHESSIE WHAR AR YOU??
I personally look at all the topics here some good some not so good. Now if I feel that it is worthy to respond to it I will, however if not I won't. I consider George to be very knowledgable in a lot of areas along with a LOT of others,I can't name them because it would take all day to read it and have learned a tremendous amount of things here and wouldn't trade for anything!! This is my opinion only and I want to not only thank all who contribute as well as the Lord for given US the knowledge to share to others.

May God Bless you

I will respond to this, I feel that george is knowledgable in his areas too but he has made several blanket statements that I know to be untrue and misleading, one in particular was made in regards to a stove being converted to propane from natural gas, while his inches of water column were correct he stated that "all residential furnaces come from the factory set up for natural gas and must be converted to propane" I not only have a residential propane furnace but also a water heater and a stove that came from the factory as propane units, I believe the post was dated in march of this year. I will give him credit for correcting my typo also, but I do not feel he has the right to dictate when others should shut up even if it's done "politely", ace jumped into the seat belt post as I thought he might, he does remember a post he made back in 2007 in regards to how he feels items should be secured or not, like I said, I'm just a simple guy that piles sawdust and when I run across something that I know to be a possible problem I ask where they got the idea and most of the time I'm told it's from this board or another board, if a board wants to be number one it has to provide accurate information to questions and not just a guess at a solution. (ace, you mispelled bungee, george should have picked up on that lol)

Btw, my being able to pop corn has converted my bus to what it is today with no money out of my pocket. How did you do yours or did you?
Also, still waiting on those pics of all that custom work your turning out.
and let me also add when you can be where I've been and do what I've done then talk to me about popping corn. if you don't know anything about it then I wouldn't show my ass by bringing it up!

Ace, I'm sorry if I brought up bad memories for you, I'm just asking that we all be a little more accurate in our postings, what you do with your free time is your business and if you make money at it then good for you,, but you have to realize that when advice is given on how to do something it should be accurate. I think this has been beaten to death, I think the lag bolts tripped a switch for me when I saw them and then remembered your post, I apologize to all for that.

Yes ace, and for your next post, yes, my mother did, in fact, wear army boots at least until she passed away but what does that have to do with trying to be more accurate in answering questions posted by people seeking answers to bus related problems or is that secondary to your seeking entertainment at the expense of others.

Just as I expected! Your acting like an idiot just like you did on the other board, and twisting this thread around, trying to make it look like its me but we all know your style!
There has been many many of your useless postings that have nothing to offer other than to show your hand at wanting to be a comedian and now you say your here trying to answer questions the right way about bus conversions? That in itself is a joke!
To be honest, I have yet to see ANYTHING you have done or completed to back up your claim to fame of knowing anything other than what you read someplace else that more than likely originated from someone else.
Like I said, you supposedly fix all these wrong found that people run to you with but we never see it. We just continue to hear your words and we all know how much words are worth, don't we? Hire about backing up ask this talk with proof or are you following the footsteps of past posters?

"Hire about backing up ask this talk with proof or are you following the footsteps of past posters?" calm down ace, your not making sence. The attempt at humor was on your part when you brought up "fids Folder" in the third post on this thread and if the people that come to me for work wanted you to know anything about them I'm sure they would contact you, they are certainly free to do so if they choose.

The bitterness, presumption & presupposition of the pompous whiners far out weighs any distraction, humor or slight I have written here.

It has been correctly observed that there are 2 distinct types of people who have converted Coaches:
The ones who enjoy being free to travel & enjoy the world outside of their normal sphere of existence...
AND
Those who are expecting to impress everyone else with how lavishly they have spent their money on luxury.

I belong to the 1st group.
I also belong to the group who has far more sweat effort & abilities invested in their Coach.

Clearly some are here to flex false ego & power, vent anger & be
slaves to emotional outbursts aimed at those whose agenda is socializing civilly with the community .

They just cannot tolerate anyone who is not a carbon copy of themselves.

What they fail to realize or understand is that it is not the responsibility of the rest of the world
to conform to their expectations or to maintain THEIR happiness or security.

There is a Medical term for that type of self centeredness & for those people afflicted with that primary functional behavior response
& it is not Comedian, Humorist, Sociable or Affable .

If you have no control over your self you will have no control over your anger or other people.
Seeing thru those eyes, everything around them is chaotic & dysfunctional & then one becomes combative
out of failure to grasp the core of their own displeasure... uncivil & anti-social out of defensive reflex.

None of those reactions fit my performance, attitude or behavior here!

AND none of them fit nor describe those whose company I seek & retain here.

Someone has problems & it isn't me .

IF I have control over them it is not because I sought it or enjoy it, THEY relinquished the control
to make their lives miserable by failing to control where their eyes look,
what their brain interprets & how much satisfaction they are able to afford themselves.
They seek confrontation & if they cannot find it , they CREATE it.
And the one thing that really crawls under their skin is when nobody will fight with them on THEIR own terms.
Some one recently said here,
"Ignore them & they will go away"
which was followed by "I have been asked to leave forums several times"....
those statements came from Whiners with experience of being asked to leave & being ignored.

Which brings me to the obvious fact that....
Those who whine the most about my deposits here
are the VERY ONES whom I never directly engage,
they are outside of my circle of friends & I seldom if ever
direct my words or humor towards them....
they feel left out of some loop & as some have said,
"They are nothing more than jealous
because they cannot do what you attempt to do & that is
enjoy life, try to pass along a smile & have fun while doing so."

I have control over my life & if I encounter people who's company I do not enjoy or find value in
....I IGNORE THEM.
I do not spend my time trying to change them or do battle with them,
my time & life mean more to me than just playing petty games
& wrestling with people I don't know, don't care about & wouldn't associate with.

It's a BIG world, I have choices & I make the most of MY TIME & the result is
the abilitiy go thru each day not having expectations of others to BE ME or BE LIKE ME.

I have always kept in mind the statement of a Philosopher & Theologian who offered up this concept....
Heaven may well be a place of beauty, comfort & rest...
and
Hell may well be a planet that is full of carbon copies or ourself in which we are are expected to rule.

If that postulation has any truth to it,
when my OEM issued MeatSuit fails & if I find myself headed South
I will have the security of knowing it is a place
that has tolerance, mirth & responsibility for ones own happiness & progress.
And that will be fine with me for an eternity !
:-)

Continue to do that which affords you the greatest satisfaction & pleasure with the time you have left in life,
I like to leave other people smiling or thinking....
some here want to leave people hurt, bruised & beaten into submission.
The line has been drawn by others, you can play their game by their rules
or disregard it & enjoy yourself & the company & contributions of others who are here to learn & enjoy.

MAKE YOUR CHOICE
TAKE YOUR PICK
and learn to live with the consequences !
(and whatever your choice is, I wish you the best)

therein lies your problem??? Could be, as several have issues with many of your posts that go off on their own. Many of your posts are helpful and useful. And myself and most others thank you for them. Now that we have an OT section...problem solved once this thread dies out.

Taken from the Facebook post of a good friend of all parties involved here:

Knocked at Heaven's door this morning. God asked me, "My child what can I do for you"? I said: "Father, please protect and bless the person reading this". God smiled and answered, "request granted"!

Be kinder than necessary ~ for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

98% won't re-post this, but it would be an honor and a pleasure to see if you are among the 2% percent that will
