I am in the process of resurrecting the drivers a/c evaporator in my MC 9. However, I ran into a snag - the two defrostor motors under tha dash that are used for the drivers heat/defrost/ac are bad. Yes, MCI will selll them to me for $355 each! I was hoping for a less expensive route. I took them to an repair shop that is very experienced and they cannot find parts or a 24volt replacement.

Does anyone have a good pair of these motors? or at least, a pair with good armatures. My shop can fix any other problems but the armatures on mine are shot.

Regards!

Kirk's Automotive will have them. www.kirksauto.com

Could also try Mohawk. Both outfits are coach unit suppliers.

I did the typical replace the brushes, clean the commutator, lube the bearings rebuild on my motors and they came in fine. My local electric motor rebuild place was able to supply the brushes.

You sure that the armatures don't just need cutting and new brushes? Find an electric motor rebuilder or older starter/ alternator service shop. Majority of AC shops don't do this kind of work.
