on a 4106 first compartment ceiling there seems to be a 4 inch by the width and length of the compartment drop-down,is this just on mine? if not what is in that drop-down?would it be safe to drill through it to mount my inverter under the seat of my banquette as my new Genny is humongous. |

Thomas, it seems to me you either don't have a maintenance manual and a parts manual, or you want everyone else to do your homework for you. If you don't have those manuals, please email me off the board. You'll find that most of the body and structure questions you ask can be found in the parts manual. |

IS THAT a normal part of the bus as it looks like it was made for the battery container? |

Again, I'm asking if you have a parts manual. Not a maintenance manual. The parts manual will show you blow ups of each part and piece with the part numbers involved. |

be careful, there is probably electrical and coolant and ac piping in there. There is usually access panels you can remove to check. |

tom I just remembered doing something similiar to that and I took the panel down drilled the holes and double nuted it and that way I could take it out whenever I needed too. Now something else you can do is weld a bolt to it Hummm Gomer |

TOO MUCH TROUBLE I WILL GO INTO THE GENNY COMPARTMENT And drill into the seat cavity, this will cost me a little more $$$ as i will have to buy a longer battery cable to reach the batteries.the cable i have now is only 2 feet long and the size of my thumb.i will need about 6 feet to do it properly and about a foot or so to ground it. |

oops i thought i was drilling into the Genny compartment ......NOT. turns out i drilled above the battery compartment 3 inches from where i wanted to be.i first drilled a 3/4 hole through the floor then dropped my see snake down to inspect what was there, not much except what looks to be an Orange extension cord. i then drilled through the floor of the cavity and came out almost perfectly where i wanted to be. now my next feat will be to move the transfer switch up into the same place but i think it may end up under the sink. |
