I have put the outer plate back on the lower rear arm at the connection to the body. ( I am leaving the day after tomorrow, and this job hit the wall yesterday when I came upon the issue I am describing). The directions in the Book indicate that one must "remove nuts from the 4 anchor plate bolts, then remove bolts and anchor plates". Well...the nuts came off easy. The upper bolts came out easy. The two bolts that appear to go thru the center of the bushing are locked by rust on the back side. I expected this and can apply heat when I get back to this task. However, to remove those bolts will cause the whole attachment fixture, including the stabilizer bar assembly, to fall. The stab bar is attached to this fixture. To those that have done this on a 4106, what am I missing? It almost seems like you could pull the radius arm OFF the large pin (it seems to be a pin, anyway) if you had also removed the plate from the front of this arm at the axle. But that is not what the instructions in the manual call for. Someone please give me some sort of epiphany on this. Thanks. | ||

I,m still looking myself,and what I remember is that it does come off as you said. It will need persuasion and a jack to hold it as you are getting it off. It may require a come-a-long to keep the parts together when you re-install it too. Gomer |
