I have the opportunity to purchase a 1989 Prevost with 89K that had an engine fire. The bus was originally converted by Liberty. The rear 1/3 has damage. The rest of the coach, bays, glass, gen, awnings, etc. are good. In addition to the structural work (skins, engine), the interior needs to be redone because of the smoke damage. Does anyone have a suggestion for an inexpensive conversion company to redo the interior, or how much I can expect to pay for an interior remodel? Set up is as follows: rear; queen bed middle; bath shower bunks front; kitchen, sofa, 2 chairs, jumpseat, cockpit. Thank you for your suggestions! Safe Travels!

guess it depends on your 'taste'...anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000...

i don't think you can find an "inexpensive' conversion company to touch this 1.... with repair rates at close to $80-100 hr, i think you'll have well over $100k in labor... not to mention $$$$ in parts for the engine, trans, and interior....another thing to think of is, it has a "salvage or reconditioned" title... few lenders will fund on that....

"suggest"...if you don't want to do the conversion...that you buy one already converted....15,000 to 100,000

Hi markair.

Please consider the heat of that engine fire, and what it will have done to the structure in the rear. If it was recoverable, the pro's would have already snatched it up. They are plugged in to "the system'.

If it is available to you, the pro's are ignoring it, you have to be concerned about: why?

Unless you like a challenge, and know for sure how you can beat the pro's using your own labour, I'd recommend you find something else and avoid "the education" that a boondoggle will give you.

happy coaching!
