some people won't 'approve' of this....my windshield rubber was cracking on the outer edges....went to the lumber yard...got: 1 tube black 100% silacone,1 roll masking tape,1 plastic 1 1/2" spreader...(5.00 total) put masking tape 1/8" away from rubber,small bead of silacone,worked it smoth with paddel,removed tape,looked at it this morn. BEAUTIFUL |

just be sure to use the masking tape to keep it NEAT |

When you get to doing a real replacement of the rubber be sure to get all the silicone off & that will be quite a chore. If you don't get it all off you won't get the new seal you've paid for. Regards Jerry 4107 1120 |

You go, 2D! I did the same, only used some clear that I had lying around, and did it free hand. Completely functional, with little to no regard for appearances. I'll get new rubbers for the windshields in awhile, and until then, it's a work in progress! And the dirty secret is: new rubbers leak too! So get used to using some goop or other! Don't use it on new install at your peril! happy coaching! buswarrior |
