We are changing our transmission from manual to an HT740 (mating to a 8-71, mounted straight in a scenicruiser)

What are your opinions on type of shifter? Where do we mount the shifter?
Thanks from a newbie!

We liked the kinda old fashioned shifter with the tower that could mount just about anywhere, right side or left, or even on a pedastal to raise it up.

Of course you will have to deal with that pesty heavy cable that runs all the way back to the tranny. This could be $expensive$.

Maybe today there is some magic way to tell your Allision what to do without having to run the analog cable stuff to make it work. Good luck.

I think it is called a Stone-Bennet shifter and it is elctronically controlled.

Have you thought about a cooler for that automatic? I have made enquiries about a seperate oil to air and the one large enough was about $800. Best way I was told was to buy the smaller cooler and link it in with the oil to water cooler which I already had.

If you need cooler info, email me and I will dig out what I found and send it over.

Peter.

It might be a couple of months before we take out the tranny, Two Dogs. We are in Oregon. Make us an offer!

I'd look at the E place, but need to know what to search for, please Two Dogs. "shifter" is too vague.
Thanks!
