Wasn't the 4105 a Scenic and the 4107 was a 35 ft bus,I thought the 4903 was the first 2 axle 40 footer ? |

"2 Axles front and rear???" (Sounds like an H5-60 Prevost) A Scenic is a 4501, but only two axles in the rear. G |

Jim, I can't call, my phone keeps dieing after about 5 minutes use. Identify the bus you are talking about through the Coach info website.... Click this link: http://www.coachinfo.com/AllAboutBuses/GMC_Info.html |

Sandy, The 4107 is a 35' bus. If his bus is 40' it's either a 4903 or a 4905(like the one in my profile pic). They do look like the Scenicruisers except the vista window is much closer to the front of the bus and the glass is not as tall as the SC. Bob (Message edited by wildbob24 on September 17, 2011) |

OK, the H8H649 designation was used in the last 2 years of production, 1979 & 1980 as a continuation of the P8M4905A . To the best of my knowledge, there was no change to the actual bus design. Bob |

Jim, many charters took the tag off and added an extra bay on the 4905 and clones. Look in the bay and see if there is a couple of I beam type faces on the rear bay wall. They will have a lot of bolt holes for attaching the tag axle. The reasoning behind the tag AND the removal was the weight limits from state to state. As a matter of fact, I got the last overweight ticket in the State of Illinois when they went from 73,280 to 80,000 for semis. Damn those old wind up clocks! I was 10 minutes early! |

I don't think GM ever built a bus with two front axles? I think Trailways did though but don't remember when. |

I was thinking one of them even had duals on the front axle. That ought to give you some road feel, especially with no power steering... |

I thought of the Futurliner but it only had two axles total and was never in production. You can buy one cheap though, only a couple of mil!! |
