I'm going to replace my Tu-flo 500 on my 8V71 4106. A local shop said they have a new one on the shelf. Does rotation direction matter to the compressor or will any Tu-flo 500 work? |

the tu-flo compressors will pump air in either direction...it doesn't matter.... |

You must remember that a Detroit is left turning only at the crankshaft; the cams and all other parts turn in the same direction as a right hand engine. This little trick is accomplished by moving the idler gear in the gear train to the other side of the accessory plate. Your compressor is driven off the end of the camshaft. Guy 4905 |

Been turning mine on my 671 the "wrong" direction for long long time. Makes no diffrence. When I swithed mine I called an expert he said just don't tell it and it won't know the diffrence. I had to swith mine when I mounted the turbo right in the way. |
