Having just finished a level 5 project & still physically paying the price,
I thought I'd go for a level 2 job and get after mounting those Alum. wheels on the steering axle.
I have a HD OTR truck floor jack to do the initial heavy work & access to a 3/4 inch impact gun so that is in the bag too.
I know I'll need a stud a half inch longer to compensate for the added thickness of the Alum. wheel.
I have 2 options,
undo a single nut & whackit outa the hole with the BFH & then take it to Wheel Service ) for an identical one only longer
( 1 day trip on horseback or by StageCoach ).
OR
I can take the Specifications & either order them by price over the InnerNet Tubes or take them to the counterman...

If you happen to have the Spec's or part # (KenWorth,Intn'l, etc)
it would save me digging in the bottom drawer for the BFH & havin to borrow the 3/4-inch ear buster twice....
and I shorewood appreciate it.

Hey Jack, I did all of my wheels myself. Drove the old studs out and drove the new ones in with a BFH I made sure I had solid backing in both directions, worked fine for me. Any truck place will have the longer studs.

Everyone of them wants to know the diameter, the thread count per inch & the base size.
But thanks for the encouragement..!

Jack, call Luke.... he'll know the ones you need.

Muncie Transit, Mohawk, or BussFixx in Sharon Springs, Ks.are also good places to look.

I got in touch with the Great Flabog Himself, Luke
and he has what I need in stock....
and it is what I should have done from the get-go.

I think what we need here is a constant flashing Ad for US COACH
in THICK RED LETTERS..... to keep us reminded that
EVERYTHING we NEED for our Coaches is all available by just calling Luke....

Jack,

I changed the rear ones on my 4104 because they were stripped by tire jocks. It was more like a Level 7 for me!!

Anyway, my hubs turned out to be Al, a big surprise to me, and took tons of force in a monster hyd press to remove.

I tried the BFH to no avail. Wouldn't even budge.

4106 may be completely different, I hope so.

Be careful.
