Any one use Kumho or yokohama 14-16 ply tires on there coach, how do they wear and ride. How about steel marc 14 ply tires that they sell at Sams club, anyone buy or use that brand yet. Thanks Dave. |

For 11R22.5's, I've seen plenty of semis on Yokohamas. I've never pulled a blown-apart one off the road yet. Never seen a Kumho that I can recall. Seriously, for the drives, think Bandag. |

Dave , John's advice is great use recaps for the back axels just make sure they are the same brand on each axel on both sides, they can differ detween axels but i like to keep them the same. on the front i run bridgestone as this is the place where you do not want a cheap tire that may blow out at +55 miles per hour. look at your local bus company and see what they use or go to your local truck stop and talk to the drivers they will be more than glad to talk to you about tires. just watch the speed rating on them. |

I used Kumhos on our bus for years. They are a very good tire and a lot cheaper than most. They will not last as long as a Bridgestone for example, but they will be way to old to use before you wear them out. As a sidenote the Kumhos did not seem to show their age. Also the core may have no trade in value, but most cappers will not cap anything over 5 years old anyway. |

I had bad luck with a bridgestone. 70mph blow out just over a year old with 7.000 miles on them. I have gone to a simular tyre to Kumhos.Same rating, half the price.Surley if the rating is equil the chance of failure would be. Or not? |

In the past I've run Continental steer tires and had good results. Some of the truckers here in GA have started running Kumhos. Some of the fastest selling tires right now are Sumitomo. Three different dealers here have started selling 'em. As a matter of fact, I just priced two 12x22.5 Sumitomo steer tires Monday at a price of $310.00 each plus tax. Toyo's were $340.00 plus tax. Goodyear was $365.00 plus tax. Here is a link that I found interesting: http://www.tireaccidents.com/private_tire_brands.htm On this page there is a link that you can go to and find a lot of information. Also, it'll let you know about some private brands. Glenn MC-9 Jersey Cruiser |
