I understand from other posts that the lines from the "T" to the trans and governor should be the same length?

Mine are 18" and 10'! So, before I buy 10' of line I just want to make sure this is correct.

Thanks

I've seen posts from Luke to that effect a couple of times in the past.

I'd give him a call on this. The variance you have in length seems excessive. Maybe it is measured from a different location.

The variance is no surprise, the line out of the firewall to the "T" is very near the rear throttle cylinder on the governor on the left side.

The trans line goes up and over the engine down to the trans all the way on the opposite side.

It makes sense to me that the gov and trans should get the throttle signal at the same time and my trans sure doesn't act right now.

All I have to lose is the price of ten feet of hose.

The throttle supply and the modulator air line need to be exactly the same length from the tee,but I would try and reroute 10 ft seems long to me

good luck

Gus
Reroute the "T" to be nearer the transmission so the lines from it are as close to being the same length as possible. 10' and 18" are way too far apart to work properly. Just add to the line from the foot pedal to allow you to place the "T" near the transmission.

Guys named BILL are always the Einsteins,
I guess this is just further confirmation.
Some guys look at a box & just see 4 sides, others see 6
and then there the guy that sees 8, even if it's circle !

The "Tee" is installed correctly right?
It's not allowing "blow thru" of the 10ft leg & then backing up into the 18 inch side is it?
.
.

I dint think so...

Just like to help. I wish this board existed 27 years ago when I started mine. I would have saved thousands. Made a lot of costly mistakes in the beginning.

Gotta take most of Jack's side in this one!
Bill's suggestion about moving the tee is right on also, whatever you do, don't buy 8 1/2 feet of tubing and add it to the throttle, just to make them equal! (The green light would turn yellow before you got revved up, not to mention the amount of time it would add before the engine slowed down when you took your foot OFF the pedal.)

It takes some force to move either the modulator cylinder or the throttle cylinder against their return springs. So, air will move easily down the long line, and no appreciable pressure will build up in the cylinder connected to the short line until it has built up equally in the long line.

We're also talking about a fraction of a second here.

Find the shortest possible route from the throttle cylinder to the modulator, and put the tee in the middle of that.

I put a diagram from Williams on my bus site, I couldn't remember how to insert a photo here...sorry!

http://prevostlemirage.blogspot.com/

If you look very carefully at the diagram, the tubing sizes are different where they seperate at the "T"

Len,

I did that.

Before the change the "blow through" was 18" to the gov and 10' to the trans mod.

All my lines are 3/8" OD. However, there is a smaller, probably 1/4", line going into the trans about 6" aft of this line. What the heck is this?
