I removed the fuel tank fill tube on our 1978 GMC 4905. Should there be a plug
on the underside of the assembly? See picture at http://www.utbiz.com/bus_tank_fill.jpg. Without
it, I don't think the fill whistle will work.

Also, if you look at the picture, I put three red "O"'s on the assembly in the
locations I am thinking about drilling and tapping holes for generator, diesel
heater and return lines in to the fuel tank. Has anybody done this before or
have a suggestion on a better place to put these lines?

my pick-up and return for my webasto are just drilled thru the top of the tank. i think your plan is better than mine. joe
