That's a beautiful 560SEL.. I love the W126 Mercedes line. I've got a 1984 300SD that I would not part with for any amount of money.

A good idea that is generally suggested is to first put your floor plan on the bus floor using 3/4 inch masking tape (the width of the walls).
Next would be to actually make cardboard walls and cabinets to get the feel of the spaces you are creating. You can later use some of the cardboard as templates for cutting the wood. Its much easier to tweek the design here and there in cardboard than in wood.

Derek - The W126 is in my opinion the best Mercedes built for so many reasons I will not go into them here. I installed the euro lights, H&R springs and bilstein shocks to stiffin it up and the 17" AMG monoblocks to lessen the side wall flex of the standard tire - now she handles like a slot car and has a 0-60 time of 6 seconds. Mind you this is my commuter/family car, it still needed to hadnle better than a wet loaf of bread and even though it is a large sedan, on ramps are no problem! Kind of Euro/diplomat styling I think.

Mr.Wood - Yes I did, he is a rather strange individual and although I am very pleased with my bus, he did decieve me during the purchase. Since buying it I have found several posts he made on the net regarding problems he knew to be present, but denied to me at the time of purchase... No big deal, I got it for a very good price. Did you buy te one with the wheel chair lift?

Brian - When my daughter was born I decided to give up on the rice rockets, Dukati cafe bikes and the like. I just had to have a bike though so i found and restored the /2, I have always loved the classic styling and the 1930's design. That design almost put BMW out of business as by 1968 it was already a very antique design and the japanese bikes were dancing circles areound it in performance and styling- BMW is a last attempt to remain in the bike market produces the /5 toaster tank and moved into the realm of "euro luxury" and saved thier butts!

The pocked doors are planned at 24" but i have yet to build a mock-up and try to see if it will be too confining. The two spaces I dislike are the bedroom and the shower, both for the same reason. You use them for a short period and the rest of the time they are dead space. My first design had a shower with walls which folded in on eachother to form a desk when not in use and a sofa bed in the bedroom so it could double as a play room. I dropped the sofa bed thing because there is a step in the rear on which the seats sit and it's presence percludes the installation of a sofa bed (I have also been unable to find a comforatble one at 6'3") and in the end I dropped the desk idea because I had a space for a desk which was useless for anything else.

In my design I am trying to keep everything below window level to give the illusion of space and I am tryong to keep all the windows for light. In addition the Cityliner is fitted with opening windows - evry other one from the rear - and most of my use will be good weather use so i can park on the beach and open it up - this does creat a shade problem and although awnings are available, they are very, very expensive! Any ideas???

Yes, I bought the one with the wheelchair lift. We picked it up, fueled up, and drove to So Or Diesel, no problems. Ran great. Sorry to hear you had troubles with yours. My air shifter wasn't working quite right, but I knew that going in. all the best, Bob

The car is nice but I'm partial to the old boxer with the earls forks. My first motorcycle was a R75/5 and my dad had a R69 with a steib sidecar. I wish I still had either of those bikes
