I need to replace the windshields on my Crown. What do you call the 2 piece rubber, and does anyone know where to get the stuff? And do you need a special tool to do the job?

Doug...I just replaced one of mine...the rubber is pretty much universal; nothing special, just windshield gasket. Now a single piece..... As I recall, about $32 from the guy that installed it. ($50 for the install). Looks good and not much different from the "original". Glass, however was off the charts.. $$$..unless you can pick it up, then very reasonable from my point of view.

I feel for you RC I have flat glass so I don't think it will hurt all that bad. Hope you are right about the gasket being one piece universal. That will save some headackes

Thanx, Doug...I think...(again) :-):-)

As I recall, Coach Glass has flats at a great price. Might give them a call. If you need additional information about them, look in the recent archives. I posted about them in August, AIR.

By the way, what engine do you have in your Crown?

I repowered it shortly after I bought it to an 855 NHHTC big cam 290 had the pump governed at 2250 RPM and all the fuel the cam and injectors could handle. with the 365 gears and the 24.5 tires I can easily bury the 85 MPH speedo and it accelerates up any hill around here.I love passing other motorhomes any time I get the chance. There is a local glass place in my town who says it's no problem reproducing the glass.
