I have two 05 Eagles. One has manual steering, and one has power steering. The manual is very tight and a pleasure to drive on the open road, but will grow arm muscle fast in a tight area. The bus with power is all over the road. When I turn the wheel with the engine off, there is about 60 degrees of slop in each direction. When I start the bus, I can stand outside, turn the wheel and the wheels move with less than 1" steering wheel movement. It seems to be very tight and balanced in both directions. When I get it on the road, it wanders, and takes an enormous amount of turning to control the bus. The manual is much easier to control. I thought that the outer tie rod ends may be bad, but judging from the quick response at idle there is very little play. The unit is only 3 years old and was purchased new. Any suggestions? |
