I'm sure that rv windows have been discussed here in great length. My question is this...has anyone removed the original side windows of a m9 and replaced them with a "perfectly" sized rv replacement? If so would you please respond with an accounting and a manufacturer. jpwinks 1983 m9 |

Pennisula Glass company.... Rather expensive. I had a estimate from them but I have misplaced it. I am a tightwad and it was WAYYYYYYYYY out of my league. Sorry for not having the price but they have a STOCK replacement that works in the hole. It provides the glass as I remember but you had to remove yours and reuse the frame. |

Peninsula Glass(now Motion Windows)have windows that fit right in your existing frame. They use a split frame that goes on both sides of your existing one (make sense?). They range in price$287-444 for single or 2x pane, clear or tinted. I just went by their shop a couple weeks ago to see their wares. They do have a web site if interested |

I got a set of 6 pennisula windows. I drove my bus down to vancouver (border of wa/or) from seattle, and they installed them the next morning. Their window glass was sized precisely. they removed the original windows, popped the glass out, machined an edge off, and then installed the double-pane sliders. The original function of the window is maintained - the emergency exit latch works, and they're sliding insulated glass windows. the tint is a little off from the tint of the original windows, but I can live with that. I don't really like the design of their drivers window, or the door window, but I did get the drivers window, because it has a screen on it, and I'm tired of having my soda pop sucked out the window when I put it on the ledge to the left of the drivers seat. bruce / 1983 njt mci 9 |

Hey Bruce... Not to be nosy, but what did it cost for the double/tinted/sliders (each)? Prices installed and "do it yourself"? Thanks! |

Bruce, How much advance notice did you have to give Penninsula glass when you ordered your windows? Thanks Dave Dulmage (MC-8) |

I called them between 4 and 6 weeks before I wanted it done. I don't know how much lead time they need. The actual installation took about 5 hours -- they have to modify the window frame a little bit to get their window in. I don't recall what they charged for it; I remember it being somewhere north of $350 a window. |

Penninsula Windows - When I drove my bus to their shop, they wren't sure they could do it, but measured the windows, and figured out a way to get them to fit. I drove down to Wrico for several days, and when I came back, Penninsula had all my 16 of my windows ready. The bus windows are about 3 1/2 feet tall and 5 feet wide. They are slightly curved. They put a slider on the bottom half and a fixed window on the top. We used the original awning window frame, so I have the best of both worlds. Each set of two - one slider and one fixed - dual pane, double tinted, windows cost $556. Installing all eight windows cost $360, although I helped (they didn't charge me more for me to help). It took a full 8 hours, although the first one took much longer than the rest while we worked out the details and the technique. I am very pleased with every aspect of my purchase, price, product quality, customer support. |
