I posted a message back some time ago about lots of oil in my air tank. I pulled my head off of my compressor and it is a rebiult unit that looks to be in perfect shape. you can still see the cross hatch marks on the cylinders frome the honing. any sugestions on how to clean the oil and sludge from the system completely. the bus is still down without a tranny but one is on the way from P.A. from Bernhard bus parts and service in Quakertown P.A.

You could check for a broken oil ring or a restriction in the compressor air intake system(filter) or the intake pipe is soft rubber and collapses when the compressor is pumping.

only way to get oil in your air tanks is from lube oil from the compressor; replace compressor. if not you will ruin your air dyer again. as to cleaning your system out, short of removing your tanks, you could put some cleaning solvent in the tanks ,let sit for 24 hours then air up system and use purge valve to blow out diluted oil.
