HELP, I have looked all over and can't find any 1 3/8" line for my bus, they are 5 1/2" long and there are 6 of them. Tried all the hose shops in the area and also Napa, they can get me a 1 3/8" line but it is only radiator hose which won't work for long with diesel fuel. anybody go any ideas of where to find replacement hose? Thanks for your help folks |

This is a high pressure fuel hose that is a unique size. No hydraulic hose will fit. I found some at a place in Yuma, Az when they invited me in the back to look for myself. Unfortuneately, I don't remember the manufacturer or part number. It might be easier to go to Universal Coach and order by part number. |

Stan this is not a high pressure hose, this hose makes the conection between the bottom of the main tank to the bottom of the second tank, the hose is only 5 1/2" long, there are three pipes that span between the tanks and these 6 hoses connect the tank fittings to the pipes inbtween and then to the other tank fitting, that is why it takes 6. Ralph it also is not a filler hose since the filler is a fitted piece that fits right on the face of the main tank and I was told that a filler hose would not hold up to the diesel fuel standing inside it for ever as it transfers the fuel from tank to tank. I STILL NEED HELP FOLKS |

I would follow the advice for the hose by going to hydraulic they will surprise you on the types of hose they have or carry. |

Any boatyard of size will have fine USCG aproved diesel fuel hose sitting in rolls. Post if you want me to ask at my local place about a few feet of hose , but BE SURE you measure the right ID as this stuff neither stretches or crushes much. FAST FRED |

Hello Fast Fred, you seem to be the only one who realizes that this is a fuel hose (MCI used a non rated hose that swelled up inside which I found was seeping fuel when I started this mess) also there is NO WAY to hook up a hydrolic hose without the connections because you can't squeeze a hydrolic stiff hose with hose clamps (it takes a special press and there is a fitting that goes inside the hose as well as outside) the hose onto the 1 3/8 inch od pipe which makes the ID of the hose to be 1 3/8 inch (that's one and three eighths inch which is very big for a fuel hose). Also unless you happen to find (couldn't find on the www) an ood ball size, most hoses go from 1 1/4 inch to 1 1/2 inch,(one place said they could get it but it only came in 500 ft rolls BUT it wasn't rated for Diesel fuel). Don't think I can afford to buy 500 ft. I have figured out what MCI used though, it was copper refrig fittings and copper pipe because GRANGERS has a stainless steel flex hose(see item # 1A893 at a cost of $26.65 each) for refrig units that will fit perfectly over both ends but you have to braze it on. Since the fittings are longer than the 5 1/2 inche long ones that were holding things together, I will have to cut the pipe shorter and then make a couple of brackets to hang the pipe from the bottom of the bus since MCI also doesn't carry the spacers anymore either. Oh the JOYS of bussing hehehe, so yes Fred if you can find some fuel hose that big I need 3 feet (this gives me space to cut the thing up and still be correct with my length)I would be gratefull since I live in Arkansas and there are not any big boat yards in this area. |

Personally, I believe the filler hose would work just fine, if it is rated for diesel, then it is rated for diesel, no matter that the hose does not contact diesel all the time. With that short of a run filler hose should last for years in that application, if not forever. Brian |

cloth-covered-single-wire hose (trade name STRATOFLEX) can be clamped using worm-drive hose clamps....lots of manufacturers use it for suction on hydraulic systems.... |

Might want to check with Luke at 1-888-coach34. He may have them in stock. If not, he can probably get them or know where to send you. Hope this helps, Jack PS: We had one of these leaking on our bus when we purchased it in Sept.'99. Repair was part of the purchased agreement and was done by previous owner. It was repaired at Heartland Coach in Arcadia, Florida. Email me if you need more information |

Talked to Luke and he said that MCI had the hoses but some times the operators make mistakes, so I called again and sure enough they had them so I got 6 and had them ship them at no cost since they said they didn't have them on my last order. Thanks for your help everybody. |
