Well it's spring time again. I laid up my 06 for the winter as usual. When shut down last fall every thing was fine. Now I have no reverse. Drives through all forward gears fine.(manual 4 speed). While in first gear pushing the reverse button the solinoid pulls the reverse rail all the way out verified by manually engaging rail. Shift stick moves slighty. The problem is that the shift lever will not move back to reverse. Ran on the road two hours, no change.. If anyone has a solution please help. Thanks ahead of time..Lou |

Try having someone stand at the tranny and when you push the switch and go from 1st to rev have them give it a helping hand.If it goes in and reverses then solenoid problems. John |

naaa....o.k.....do this......engine warmed-up...put it in first...get on your reverse button & pull back ,AND let the clutch out a little bit...when you hear slight grinding, put the clutch back in & complete your trip to reverse. |

Lou, Put it in 1st, ease out on the clutch, have it rolling foward a little, hold the reverse switch, depress the clutch and ease it in to 2nd, release the switch. You should be in reverse now. If your not moving a little the gears don't allways line up. Before I removed the play out of my shift linkage, I once had a miss shift that resulted in a shift fork comming off the collar in the transmission. I had to remove the top cover to put it back on. Hope this helps, Tom |

Lou, i have a scenicruiser..we found there was allitle slop in the nylon bushings in the pivots in the linkage. thats one possibility..the other could be from sitting the winter...there was rust, dirt or something that might have cut the circut on the servo. if you have the overule, electric switch make sure that is working befor you go gonzo on anything else. pete |

Again I really appreciate all your input. Tried each one, varified all electrics working as it should. With the stick in first gear and the reverse button down you can't move the stick out of first. Let the reverse button go the stick slides around the gears nicely. Thanks Again, Lou |

Lou - Try this: Engine idling, trans in neutral, foot off clutch pedal. Push reverse button w/ someone watching back at the trans, to see if it's actually pulling on the reverse lever. After that, try stepping on the clutch, and, while bumping the gearshift into first, also push & hold the reverse button, then see if it will go back in to reverse. Make sure someone is also watching this action in back, so you can actually see what's going on. sometimes letting the clutch out just a tiny bit will help, too. Will it go into reverse if you bypass the electrical and have a helper do it manually w/ a broom handle? HTH, RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |

When we first got are 04 the reverse solenoid was never dependable so until we go it repaired we used the broom handle trick all the time.Tami became quite an expert, opening the tranny door watching for just the right moment and we would be in reverse. John |
