Several years ago I had an old work boat powered by an 8V71 that had a tachometer that ran off the alternator. Does anyone know if such an animal still exists, and where to search for one. How about it Fred?

Thanks Gus Haag Minnesota

I installed a Stewart Warner #82643 in my 4106. It connected a wire to the "Relay" post on my generator, and it worked like a charm. The hardest part was figuring out what the dip switch setting was, and that only took a couple of emails and one guess.

Since I have a tachograph, the new tachometer fit right into the vacant hole in the dash. It looks like a factory install.

Hope that helps,
Daris
