I know this must seem like a stupid question, but I've never backflushed a radiator before! How do you do it? Is it simply a matter of removing a heater hose line somewhere and flooding the radiator while running the engine? As I said, never done it before...be nice! thanks!! Mark 75 gillig |

The local DD told me what they did was drain the system. Mix up a solution of half a box of cascade dish washing powder, fill the system run to operating temp then drain. I did it twice when I changed my coolent out. John |

The way we USED to do it, is to take the top and bottom radiator hose loose from the engine, and with a gun that shoots both water and air, blow backwards from the normal flow, the junk comes out the top hose. Kinda shocks the loose stuff out the top of the radiator. |
