Does anyone have experience with the rear bedroom/single bed, aproach, allowing access to the manifold door on the 4104? How have you installed the beds? and what did you use for sound proofing/insulation. Thanks. John |

We used twin beds in our '04. Each the size of 1/2 a king (80" long). This gives a usuable walkway, covers the wheelwells, allows overhead cupboards all around and, with a removeable center nightstand, gives good access to the forward face of the engine (now a 6V92). P.S. It's a short walk across the aisle. Jim Stacy |

We started with a water bed frame & the drawer pedestals. Installed an air bed instead of the water matress. It comes with two individual chambers so he & she can have different softness. Being filled with air, I just lift the mattress up & stand it up, then remove the (3) 2' x 6' panels in the bottom of the bed. I then climb in & remove the access hatch & go to work. This COULD have been built so the whole thing lifted up like opening a car hood. But several years of use has shown that access is needed only about every other year. |

our 4104 originally came with a full or twin size single bed in the center. we had a fire in rear room 3 weeks ago and when we rebuilt it, ythe wife wanted more room in the rear. so we built 2 single beds on the sides 80"x 30" with dressers at the ends. the engine hatch is easy to get at, we just replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets and mufflers. we boarded up the wall flat in the rear and stuffed r-19 insulation behind the wall between that and the original rear windows.( we have the cap on the rear.) |

Jim and mciough we will sometimes need to take a few extra people along on day trips from our church. Would these areas accomodate a few people sitting back there? Thanks John |

Yes, A few bolsters or folding back rests would be nice as the beds are wider than a sofa. Certainly 4-6 people could be comfortable there on short trips. BTW, if you check the archives on this board you'll find the floorplan for my coach in my article on 35' plans. Not perfect for everyone but it has worked well for us for more than 65,000 miles without changes. |
