well it looks like I can't find a buyer for my bus so I am looking for some advice as to what to expect at the salvage yard as opposed to parting it out. this breaks my heart since she is such a fine running bus.

Fooey,

Step away from the bus for a while. Do something else. Right now is not such a great time to sell unless there is something "bad broke" that is virtually unrepairable. Scrap values are starting to decline again.

I know you have put a lot of work into it, and if having a good running bus is what you truly want, then just readjust your completion schedule. I have been working on mine for nearly 10 years, and am nearing completion. I get frustrated at times by lack of finances, but keep plugging along. Unless you have to rent a space to keep it, it really costs little to have it sit and wait for you.

From your profile pic, the bus looks much better outside than mine, and if it runs good then stick with it.

"I'm pulling for you!"

I have it stored at what I thought was a safe place but alas my character selector is broken, I always want to believe that most people are decent but I am proven wrong constantly. I have left my bus with a full tank of fuel to avoid condensation and a spare small bay door that I was going to use to replace my wrecked one on the bus in my profile another 4905. the tank was drained and the door is gone most likely sold to a scrap yard for $10. I am still working on the bus in my profile picture, phoenix the other 4905 I got from Kevin and he got it from another member here, and she is a sweet running bus that was well cared for but I don't feel I have a safe place for her now.

OK Fooey, I see now! I remember the Phoenix suffered fire damage right? Are you going to get it on the road also or "parts it out"?

I am under "orders from the boss" not to start any more (of my own) projects until I finish the bus! I am close. Hopefully by the spring we will be ready(minus paint)!

I Steven yes Phoenix suffered being lightly Cajun roasted on the front end when Kevin's house went up in flames. The damage was minor and I had her baking soda blasted down to the aluminium zinc chromate primed and then top sealed with west marine grey epoxy primer. the worst was the headlamps wiring melted so that was an easy fix. new wind-shields in place I drove her from Louisianan and was instantly sold on the GMC buffaloes. what a sweet ride. I wish I could keep her safe for a future time but alas that is not possible for me at the moment. PS thanks for the kind encouraging words

Rod that's strange, I am heading back to AZ from Fl after visiting with my Grandmother on her 93 Bday, I am fuelling up at a truck stop so i got online and I see your post. I am 285 miles from franklin now. are you physic or something?. Tom last I heard from Kevin he is going to stop being a landlubber and get a sailboat. Bob I have it listed for 3450 in various CL cities. I would like an idea what it may be worth at salvage so that I can keep some parts for my other one. I have pictures I can send to an email address

I think Phoenix has found a new home. Fooey left here this morning and we have a tentative agreement.

That will make it easier to clean out Millie, (Our PD4103), and get her ready to sell.

Does any one have a PDF PD4905 maintenance and parts manual they would be willing to trade for a bunch of other PDF Bus manuals and engine manuals?

Woo-Hoo.... More Space!

Dallas :-) ...Bob that's how I feel exactly. Marvin I was just kidding, my old 240 Volvo "Ingrid" would get very mad at me if I pushed her like that, she has just turn 985800 miles old and I plan to get the million mile badge for her from her maker. so we will just put along enjoying the sights along the way. 238 more miles until Tucson.

Maybe i missed it but does anyone know what happened to Kevin? Last I knew he had an old Flex with a Buick straight 8 or something he had brought from across the country. I guess I never heard anything else.
