Anyone install a skylite? What did you use? We want to install one in the hall between the kitchen and the bedroom. I have seen them in "stick and staples" but haven't seen them for sale anywhere. My main concern is that it must be watertite. Thanks, Iv. |

Get a Marine catalog and order an opening hatch. Many sizes , I would suggest one big enough to get out of , but not so large that you can't fit it between the existing overhead roof reinforcement. $300 to $500 will get fine equippment , sometimes there avil used at a fraction of the cost. I used marine hatches that I bought from a marine salvage place. paid about 1/3 from new. tinted Safety glass and had it tinted with Limo reflective tint, that mirror like look keeps the heat out of the bus but lets lots of light in. "Imagine" cd |

I made a cardboard template of the roof curvature of my Clipper and went shopping at the local junk yard. Found two basic types, the oem style which mounts in a depression which is stamped into the roof and the after market type which is easier to mount and less prone to leak as it mounts on the roof and not in the roof. $20 got me a nice unit from a Toyota truck which had the same curvature as my bus. It has the escape hatch release feature and the glass is coated to cut down on the sun's heat. |
