By mistake I shut off my converter, went to start the bus and the Batts were very low from using the bus to shower while I upgraded the house heat. I dont think it will hert my converter to run the batt charger in parrallel but they say there's no such thing as a dumb question. |

If you have smart computer controlled chargers, running two at the same time will confuse them and they will probably overcharge if left on too long. They can't sense the battery charge. Brian |

Hey thanks Brian, Just after writing the post I read the spec plate for the converter 13.6 vdc @45 amps so it charged the batts just fine. |

If your converter has the newest 4-stage charger it is better than most separate chargers. I have one and never use my other chargers on the bus anymore. Yes, it will charge batteries and provide bus 12V just fine. I suspect it is designed to decrease batt charging if the 12V demand is too high but that normally would only be in the first stage, the load tapers off a lot in the other stages. |
