dounan.
The shaking could be the harmonic balncer. Try with your engine shut off movig the the round large disc that is mounted behind your fan blade, just before the shaft( crankshaft) disapears into the engine. If its loose. Its not to bad to change.

On checking around futher dounan. The input I am getting is yes it could be an injector, or it could be the rack or those jaks do come loose occationally. So somewhere up top. I would get a good local DDA mechanic to check it. But tommorrow I would check the exghuast and see if you have oil or fuel there that could also guide you as to what might be wrong.

Airless so for water, would you let it stand overnight, drain the water out the bottom drain and change both filters tommorrow? Anything else??

I have set him up with one of the best DD men in Knoxville. He is pushing 80 yrs old but everyone in town knows him and agrees he is the best. Marvin will take a look at it in the morning and try to fix it. Two Dogs did some detective work and found my phone number for him. glad to help when I can if you are passing through and need assistance.

The 6-71 is different than the later 6V & 8V-71s. The book calls for 75-80 injectors BUT the original 6-71 has a special "Fuel Modulating" governor that cuts back the fuel at higher RPMs. N-75s would be real big in later engines.

beg to differ... but the "fuel modulating" governor was an option.... ive got a '54 tdh5105 with a 671... and it doesn't have the fuel modulating governor...

a lot of the 671,s had the govenors changed over to the ones used on truck engines.
Update on dounan, they think an internal valve problem and are removing the head,
