For all who have one of those new handy-dandy laser thermometers, here's an excuse to use it for something of a diversion to get out of real work. I'll go first...

Date..............Time......Ground....Ceiling..........Walls........Windows
7/12/2004....1530........129...........97...............94...............99
(medium gray asphalt, windows open, uncooled, all readings averaged)

Care to participate?

Yeah, they are handy dandy for sure. I had trouble with some plastic parts on a satellite dish not fitting together today. Occured to me that the hot sun may have expanded one of them so much so as to not fit. I measured one of the parts in the sun at 120 deg. So I took the other part inside and stuck it under an AC vent for few minutes. Then measured the temp as 80deg. The parts still didn't fit, and it turned out had nothing to do with heat expansion but rather just being off on the millwork, but was nice to be able to be scientific about finding out. . .

Of course, I like to ensure my morning coffee is exactly 170 degrees and I prefer my two-buck-chuck at 79* instead of 45*. . .:)

Since I got mine, I havn't burned my tongue on hot soup even once! No kidding, I take it to dinner everywhere I go... it seems that if it's hotter than 135, I have no business eating it!!
I have a pussy tongue I guess....

No kidding, Jim. Seriously, NO takers? I'm curious about the differential between outside and inside ceiling especially. Could it be that those who paid $$$$ for insulation don't want to show that the results aren't much better than stock??? :)

Today's was
Ground........Ceiling.......walls.........windows....
136.............101............97................98

Chuck, could you also list the air temp when you take your readings?

I had a lot of fun reading tire temps on a recent trip, mostly looking for one to be getting hotter than the others. Works great.

The HMO's got the doctors using 'em now. It speeds things up and
the doctors don't have to touch sick people.

Artis, the weatherman said that air temp was somewhere between 95 & 100. My 'normal' thermometer is a piece of junk so I can't rely on it, but this is close.

And Two Dogs, you're ever the bundle of hilarity. ;)

Yeah Too bad I was traveling.....

I first thought was "Something else we have in common", but really, I'm sure I could follow that with at least 50 one-liners.
