Looks good, Ace. A few questions, please, what secures your panels to the ceiling? And it looks like you just dropped a panel, cut holes and installed the lights, and then put the panel back up. Is that correct? What are your panels made from and what's the covering? It looks as if the covering is padded onto the panel; is that so, and if so, how did you do that?

Thanks.

Bruce, yes when I originally did the ceiling, I made it do I could remove the panels individually for things like this or to gain access to other wiring.
I used 3/8 plywood covered with thin laminate flooring foam then covered each panel with marine grade vinyl upholstery material. Each finished panel is held in place using a two sided "Christmas tree fastener" that actually goes in the back side of the finished panel and into the exposed side of another 3/8 plywood that I installed as a sub ceiling thru out coach which are attached to 1x2's running front to rear.
I posted a pic of the fastener I used earlier for another board member. If I can find it, I will post it again.

Thank, Ace. That's pretty much what I thought. I really like the "no fasteners" look. That soft effect of the vinyl over the foam is nice. I look forward to seeing your bus for real someday.

Steven, don't for a minute think that you'll be laughed at. my bus is no better than anybody elses. its a hobby that I got in to and I did it my way. it's very comfortable for me and susan and if anything goes wrong I know where to fix it. It is very far from perfect!

Bruce, the feeling is mutual!

Yeah Steven.... Ace didn't even laugh at my bus when he and Susan came up to Timmonsville.
Never be afraid to show off what you got, there's always something else that makes the worst you've seen look good.

Tonight I was able to light it up so to speak with all lights on with the exception of the two table lamps that are put away during my make over. It sure is nice to be able to see better and when the light porcelain/marble tile goes in, it will be bright!

Ace,
That bus is looking really good. I love the lights at night like that. I have a lot of little lights similar to yours. I bet you sit in there at night just looking at things :-)

Yea RJ imagine that! You would think after seeing Susan do it all these years that he would pick right up on it but no, not Bud! Maybe he's smarter than I think!
